For some reason these students already dread writing. I have started getting creative. They GET to write on the white board. Little do they realize that they are actually writing and working on their fine motor skills. During math time we use A LOT of manipulative. The students love to have "free time". It's interesting to see what they do with their things. They have HUGE imaginations and stories to go along with them. The boys outnumber the girls in our class. It's funny how everything is a competition to them. These boys thought they won something. Our religion series has great discussion questions. Instead of just talking about it, it's fun to chart and draw. I'm glad the kindergartners don't mind my horrible art skills.

We made it through the first 2 1/2 days of school! Each student received a puzzle piece to decorate. It was their job to put things on that described them. The first couple days of school we took time to get to know each other. Once all the students bring in their puzzle piece our class puzzle will be complete. We are all a "piece of God's plan". Rules, rules, rules. We talked A LOT about rules. The students had fun sorting pictures. Center time is one of their favorite times of day. This group loves to talk to their friends and use their imagination. We started at the beginning of the alphabet with letter Aa. We are focusing on the sounds of letters and how to form them correctly. We ended our week with BOOK BUDDIES.
The 3rd and 4th grade students came and helped us read. We loved having them in our room. Book buddies will be every Monday and Friday!! Hello Families!! As we get to know each other you will discover I am a bit of a technology nerd. Don't worry, you will LOVE it. I love to take pictures of what we are doing in the classroom and post them on the classroom blog. I post at least once a week. You will get a glimpse into our classroom and see what we are doing and how much fun we are having. The students will also get input. After all, they love to show off their own work. I look forward to working with my new Trinity families. Mrs. Hemme A Little Bit About Mrs. Hemme & Her Summer
