What a fun sensory activity.
Yes, it was Dr. Seuss week. We had many ways to celebrate. Of course I only captured a couple. This was Wacky Wednesday. We read the story, found wacky things in our room, and then did a WACKY thing...colored our pictures UNDER the table. They thought I was crazy. This week we also celebrated Palm Sunday. I had to retell the story EVERY day, because they loved it so much. We even made our own palm branches and retold the story on Friday. OOBLECK!!!! So much fun. Corn Starch, water, and food coloring.
What a fun sensory activity.

We love playing games. Of course these ones are themed St Patrick's Day! The sneaky leprechaun visited our class and sent us on a hunt. We did not catch the leprechaun but he did leave us a special treat, Lucky Charms.
What a fun week!! These preschoolers LOVE science and watching REAL videos. This first one was their favorite. I think we watched it 20 times this week. You're welcome. We made our own butterflies.
This week was packed full of learning. I am so impressed by these preschoolers. Also, rainbow week might be my new favorite theme. There is so much to do and LOTS of science experiments involved. We sorted Skittles a couple different ways. Our buddies came in handy for counting and comparing. Some of the preschoolers are learning letters and sounds. They had quite the challenge matching uppercase and lowercase letters, then putting them in alphabetical order. Fine motor fun with marshmallows and number identification. We made our own rainbows and did didn't name skills too. Let the science experiments begin.... We learned about rain and how it forms in the clouds. There were lots of Oh's and Aw's! I called this RAINBOW VOLCANOES. Baking soda, vinegar mixed with food coloring, and droppers. Look at these faces!! The SKITTLES RAINBOW!!
Put Skittles in a circle, pour hot water in the middle, watch and be amazed. Jessie the Comfort Dog comes to school frequently. We love having her here.
She brings so much calmness to our classroom. Community Helpers Week is always a favorite. The kids see community helpers as heroes. There was A LOT of pretend play!! Every day we learned about a different community helper and charted all about them. We learned about the tools they use, the vehicles they drive, and the building they work. We have a few students who no longer take naps, so instead of asking them to lay down for 1 hour...we have them lay down quietly for 30 minutes and then do a learning activity. We say to "rest your brain".
They are working on matching uppercase and lowercase letters. |
