Snack time isn't just kids eating somewhat healthy things.
It goes like this...
prayer, passing out snack (one-to-one), opening snack/milk (fine motor skills), and practicing manners while eating. The real fun begins while the kids are digging in. I sit back and listen to their conversations in awe. Today the conversations were everything from why they did or didn't like coconut...to how coconut flakes are made from an actual coconut...to Jesus bringing coconuts on Noah's Ark. (Thanks Lucy and Mom for making protein balls with coconut.)
I was reminded today of this verse
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." -Mark 10:14
If you can't tell I am NOT a worksheet teacher. I know kids need to be kids and a lot can be learned by playing and doing things hands-on. Now there are instances where paper is necessary to accomplish a task. In this case, we are writing in all different places. The kids love to draw pictures of things. Why not? They are still learning letters and sounds. Plus, it's WAY more fun!
Look at how well they are working.
